Lotey Ramesh runs Spiti Holiday Adventure, a successful adventure travel company based in Kaza, right in the heart of the Spiti Valley.
We are so pleased to welcome them as partners of the Yak Pack Project.
We met Lotey during our short theatre project in 2015. We were so impressed by the professionalism of his company, and how he manages to post blogs, stunning photos and videos, and keep the company’s social media profile so high, all from a tiny village 4000m above sea level with very erratic internet access and intermittent electricity supply.
Lotey left the Spiti Valley to live in Delhi for a while, but returned to Spiti to start his business.
His story is part of the inspiration for our play ‘Jambhala’, and got us thinking about the problems of remote communities all over the world and how much they have in common with each other.
Lotey regularly organises guides, ponies, homestays and the like for his customers, so has the experience and contacts to help us with our tour logistics, especially in ensuring that local people benefit directly from our activities in the valley. We are delighted that Spiti Holiday Adventure will be our ‘man on the ground’ in Spiti, and Lotey’s flair for organisation will be an indispensible part of The Yak Pack Theatre Project.
