A very warm welcome to I. T. Media Services , based in Westbourne, Bournemouth, who will be our CD sponsor – producing our audiobook ‘Jambhala’ and kick-starting our fund-raising!
I. T. Media Services is found in the lovely Victorian surroundings of Westbourne Arcade. Ray, the owner of this family business, has been here for more than 30 years providing a one-stop-shop for everything in the world of multi-media production for customers ranging from huge multi-nationals to school carol concerts.
Their attention to detail is what makes them stand out as a company, combined with a focus on each individual customers needs.
Ray told me about one of his customers – a family who found some incredibly fragile glass slides in a chest left by a relative who fought in World War 1.
There was even a stereoscopic viewer for the slides, which have a slightly different image for each eye to give the illusion of a 3D picture.
Working after hours so that he wouldn’t be disturbed when handling the delicate slides, Ray managed to restore the photographs so that they could be seen for the first time in 100 years.
Disturbing and graphic, the images were a window into the awful Battle of Verdun in 1916, and are now on display in the Imperial War museum.
Ray has already demonstrated his care and the quality of his work in helping us to produce the best audiobook possible, and we are so grateful for his donation of CDs to the Yak Pack Theatre Project.
