Brrrrr, it still looks pretty chilly in Spiti!
There has been very little snow this winter in the Himalayas. Worrying, as Spiti is an alpine desert and its water comes from snowmelt. Real fears of a second consecutive summer with not enough water for irrigation and the precious pea crop failing.
Now, late snowfall has covered the mountains, passes and right down as far as Kaza.
Whilst it might not be enough to allay the fear of drought, all snow is good news.
Though I'm kind of hoping its going to warm up soon....!
