Story time at Avon Heath Country Park

‘Rubbish Heap Rising’ is a story on its way to the Roof of the World!

.....but first there’s a chance for Dorset families to enjoy the story at Avon Heath Country Park on Saturday 14th March.

Carol Dawkins, a ranger at Avon Heath Country Park said, “Our visitors will love being able to become part of the action as they help tell the tale of Bee, who plays in the village rubbish heap only one day to find a box of treasure. Children love joining in with stories, and ‘Rubbish Heap Rising’ uses audience participation to create sound effects, music, scenery, and a few special characters, all of which makes for a very unique experience.”

The Yak Pack Theatre Project were asked by local people in the Himalayas to create a story exploring the problem of plastic pollution, and the specially written “Rubbish Heap Rising” does just that, as well as celebrating the value of friendship and community.

Of course, these issues are just as relevant here in Dorset, so it’s wonderful to have the chance to tell the story for local children too.

We're so grateful to Avon Heath Country Park for the opportunity to share the story, and for their support in raising funds for the Yak Pack Theatre Project.

Tickets are £4.50, with a special offer of 3 children for £9 – Book directly with Avon Heath 01425 478082.
